Rangjung Yeshe Institute invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month position as a Tibetan Interpreter from August 15, 2020 – August 14, 2021.
This position entails translating for classes taught by a Tibetan Khenpo or Lopon during fall and spring semesters, including teaching English-language review classes associated with the text being translated. The position also includes teaching a translation method course and working as a corrector for the Translator Training Program during the fall and spring semesters, and translating or teaching Tibetan during RYI’s summer program.
Candidates should hold an MA degree in a related field, be fluent in spoken and classical Tibetan and English, and be able to grade exams and academic papers written in English. Salary is dependent upon experience and education. Your expression of interest should be sent to applications@ryi.org by December 31, 2019 and should include a letter describing your interest in the position, a recommendation letter from someone who knows your Tibetan language, translating,
