Rangjung Yeshe Institute invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month position as a Tibetan Interpreter from August 15, 2020 – August 14, 2021.
This position entails translating for classes taught by a Tibetan Khenpo or Lopon during fall and spring semesters, including teaching English-language review classes associated with the text being translated. The position also includes teaching a translation method course and working as a corrector for the Translator Training Program during the fall and spring semesters, and translating or teaching Tibetan during RYI’s summer program.
Candidates should hold an MA degree in a related field, be fluent in spoken and classical Tibetan and English, and be able to grade exams and academic papers written in English. Salary is dependent upon experience and education.
