Dans le cadre du projet ERC Reconstructing the Pagan Religion of Tibet (PaganTibet), Alexander Zorin (Hebrew University of Jerusalem) donnera la communication suivante :
Bon and the Flaming Mouth Demoness
le mardi 13 mai à 11h00 dans salle du rez-de-chaussée de la Maison de l’Asie et en ligne (via ce lien)
Résumé :
The study of a possible connection between the Hindu goddess Jvālāmukhī and the Tibetan Kha ’bar ma demoness (conducted in collaboration with Arik Moran) has also involved an examination of Bon material. While later Bon depictions of the goddess exhibit clear Buddhist influence, certain archaic elements suggest autochthonous—or at least non-Buddhist—origins. In this talk, I will focus on these elements and consider them in the broader context of long-standing transcultural continuity in the Tibet-Himalayan region.
