84000 (www.84000.co) is looking to hire one full-time research editor to join our growing team of scholars engaged in translating the Tibetan Kangyur and Tengyur into English.
We are looking for a scholar who specializes in Buddhist tantra, in particular someone who has previously published translations into English from Tibetan and/or Sanskrit. Competency in both of these languages is a must, as is native fluency in English.
We offer competitive terms and conditions (including medical and pension benefits) that resemble general research professor positions at academic institutions. The research editor can work from home with flexible work hours.
84000 is a 100-year project (currently in its thirteenth year), so we are looking for scholars who value long-term professional relationships and thrive in a friendly and stimulating research environment.
